Overview

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is looking for a Project Chief Executive Officer. The Project CEO is responsible for the overall administrative management and operation of multiple hospitals. This includes functions in Planning, Financial Management, Continuous Quality Improvement, Human Resources Management and day-to-day Operational Management.  The Project CEO shall have the necessary authority to effect this responsibility, subject to such policies as may be adopted by the board or any committees to which the board has delegated power for such action.  The Project CEO shall act as the duly authorized representative of the board in all matters except those in which the board has formally designated some other person or group to act.  Oversees and directs total hospital operation to achieve established goals and objectives within the framework of the hospital’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for hospital operations in partnership with the Board of Directors and executive leadership.
  • Develop and implement long-range plans, policies, and organizational strategies that support the hospital’s mission, objectives, and growth.
  • Lead, develop, and evaluate hospital leadership and departmental directors, ensuring strong team performance, accountability, and staff engagement.
  • Oversee clinical, operational, and administrative functions to ensure high-quality patient care and effective coordination among medical staff, nursing, and support services.
  • Ensure financial stewardship of the hospital, including budgeting, capital planning, resource allocation, and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and industry standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with physicians, staff, community partners, and healthcare organizations to support collaboration and service development.
  • Represent the hospital with community groups, professional associations, and external stakeholders to promote the organization and its services.
  • Oversee safety, emergency preparedness, and risk management programs to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Promote a culture of ethical conduct, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or Clinical Discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in hospital leadership roles or CEO role in behavioral health or acute care required.
  • Experience in turning around an organization as well as the ability to direct crisis and inpatient behavioral health services preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills necessary in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families.
  • Maintain effective contacts with a variety of Hospital Personnel.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
