Overview

NeuroPsychiatric Hospitals is looking for a Court Liaison at our <Hospital location> location. NPH is the national leader in providing medical and neurobehavioral care to patients in acute psychiatric distress.  You will be joining a team of rock star staff who provide exceptional, patient-centered care and understand our patients are always our number one priority!  The Court Liaison will be responsible for all correspondence related to court orders for patients.  Oversees all records and tracking of mental health court appearances and evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination of clinically indicated services to individuals and the courts, for persons receiving court orders.
  • Draft and submit petitions, notices, affidavits/certificates of service and denial rights motions with the court on behalf of the patient and the facility.
  • Compile, maintain and track the mental health court appearances and evaluation appointments for all patients admitted to the facility on an involuntary basis.
  • Assemble chart materials for mental health court evaluations and hearings to provide evidence for each patient’s hold.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of relevant activities. Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in patient's medical record.
  • Provide all relevant information from the court hearing to the appropriate department at the facility.
  • Communicate effectively with court clerks, court-appointed doctors, public defenders and various court personnel in order to coordinate and deliver correct patient information for hearings and evaluations.
  • Communicate patient court progression with appropriate departments at the facility.
  • Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
  • Work in assisting other county courts in Texas in understanding warrant process to our facility.
  • Act as educator for community resources in need of direction/instructions on the process of filing EDO's to admit involuntary patients to our facility.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Typing/word processing skills. Spreadsheet and PowerPoint skills.  Excellent communication skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Demonstrated management and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
